Really need to remember all those pages for a test, nervous about that presentation you still need to practice for, or wanting to just memorise things better in general? In this post learn about all memory techniques available and learn how you can turn from Dory to Nemo!

1. The Memory Palace

One of the most useful memory techniques, is the memory palace, in which you can store useful information in very quickly. It is also very easy to make a memory palace: simply choose a place, route, and information to put in it, as you can read in this article

2. Create sentences

When putting terms or facts in sentences, you are more likely to remember them. For example, when you need to memorise a list of something, try to connect them with each other, so that you don' t forget an individual.

3. Create a song

Yes, it sounds silly, but this actually is a very helpful technique, since it has been proven that background melodies stimulate the relevancy of the information in your brain, which causes you to be more likely to remember something on the melody of a song.

4. Link words

To get an overview of words or sentences you need to remember, link these to other, usually simpler words and make a small story with them. This triggers brain activeness, and usually enhances the memorability of the words.
