How to create a memory palace!
The memory palace could be very helpful for you in very much situations and might be the fastest way to memorise lots of information in one chunk. What if you forgot to study for that test coming up, or still need to practise for that presentation tomorrow? Put the information in your memory palace and be surprised how rapid you can remember all that stuff! Follow the guide down below and create a memory palace yourself!
1. Choosing a space
The first step to making a memory palace is choosing a space! You can create a space yourself, with your wanted amount of rooms, but the most convenient option is to choose a space you already know, such as your school, home, or any other building you come to often. If you do this, it will allow you to choose your route more easily, which is the second step.
2. Choosing a route
As said, the second step is choosing a route through the rooms. Of course, not all rooms are connected, so in some cases you might need to add a door in-between. Besides that, it is also important that the rooms are almost empty, with as less distractions as possible. Also make sure that you practice the route a couple of times, so that it is clear in your mind, when adding information to it.
3. Adding information
Adding information would be the final step, but it is important to do it correctly. The information should be represented in visual pictures, numbers, or short sentences. Put the information, or the pictures, in the wanted rooms, so that when you go through your memory palace, you know where to look.
To use, just go through the memory palace often, to have it up to date! For example, when you need to do a presentation, put multiple sentences on walls through your route and go through it multiple times, to really visualise the words!
Good Luck!
